Dear Friends and Music Lovers,
Greetings!!!!!!!!!!
We open the 2006 Show Band Series with a review of Great Music. We trace their beginnings and how they have survived from the 1741 to 2006.
We begin our musical Review with two of the Classic Period block busters... George Handel's WATER MUSIC and follow this with a selection from Gustav Holst's THE PLANETS.
We next move into how Jazz developed from Plantation Dixieland music to the Big Bands of the 1940's.
Our next section, BEATLE MANIA provided many tunes that became classics.
And then we have a special treat. Our guest artist, JAY MUNNS and his Trio of Vivacious Vocalists will reach back into our musical past of classics bringing back memories to all of us over the age of 60.
We next take a visit to Broadway and enjoy one of its greatest productions... Leonard Bernstein's WEST SIDE STORY.
JAY MUNNS and his Vivacious Vocalists return to the stage to pave the way into our Review of the BIG BAND CLASSICS.
WOW!!!!!!!!!! What a night! One you won't soon forget.
Now let's talk about Jane and Jack's 60th Wedding Anniversary party coming up at our concert on February 13th. In our audience there has to be couples that also celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in the last year or so. We want to announce these special people as part of our February 13th show. MY HEAVENS, IF YOU HAVE SURVIVED THESE MANY YEARS, YOU DESERVE RECOGNITION (Jane and I know). So if you are one of these happy couples, please drop me a line at:
